We are adopting two adorable girls who have a little something extra, Down Syndrome!
We are excited to add them to our family.
We will use this blog to update family and friends on our adoption progress and fundraising efforts.

We are on our way!

After two very long flights we are tired but doing well. We have a 10 hour layover so we are getting a room for a much needed rest. Tomorrow we will arrive at 6:30 in the morning. Then we are off to meet government officials. After our meeting we have a 2 hour drive to meet Alisa. We are very nervous as to what we will find. She has been transferred to an institution for the severely disabled far in the country away from civilization. Our agency coordinators have never been there as no one has ever adopted a child from there. Sooooo sad! It breaks my heart that there are all these precious children of God who have been hidden away. Orphans with no hope of a family. We are scared to see what the conditions are like and pray that our sweet Alisa is being carefully guarded by angels.

The next day, Tuesday, we will see our Maria. She is in the major city so we have better hopes for her living conditions. The remaining days will be super busy as we visit both girls and drive the 2 hour drive between them.

I am so close to finally kissing those sweet cheeks!!!

  2. I don't think I realized that Alice had been transferred....Oh, I am saddened and will be praying. Break the walls of bondage down in the Name of Jesus!!! Praying that light will be shone into the darkness and the walls of the institution and EVERY institution fall down. Praying.

  3. Glad you had a chance for a little rest en route! I hope the rest of your flight to your girls' country goes smoothly and easily.

You will truly be opening doors at Elena's orphanage - I hope that you'll be pleasantly surprised by its conditions (about which I haven't a clue, obviously), and that she will be the first of many to be adopted from there.
